Showcase of a successful project
Health and care systems face immense challenges, ranging from health inequities and workforce shortages to climate impacts and financial pressures. At the same time, the untapped potential of data and digital technologies could revolutionise how we care for people, protect our planet, and ensure prosperity for all.
HealthIntelAct addresses these challenges by turning data into actionable knowledge that empowers healthcare decision-makers — whether they are policymakers, healthcare managers, health insurers, clinicians, or even patients and citizens. By providing the right tools and insights, the project helps them make informed decisions to improve the performance and sustainability of health and care systems.
At the heart of HealthIntelAct are 17 fellows pursuing PhD trajectories. Each fellow will work on groundbreaking research projects focused on critical challenges within three key areas: People, Planet, and Prosperity. These interdisciplinary projects, spanning multiple countries and sectors, aim to develop actionable solutions for inclusive, sustainable, and resilient health systems. Through cutting-edge training and hands-on collaboration with leading academics, healthcare organisations, and industry partners, these fellows will become future leaders in transforming health and care systems globally.
HealthIntelAct envisions health and care systems that:
- Prioritize people’s needs, fairness, and inclusivity.
- Act with environmental responsibility, reducing their carbon footprint and fostering resilience to climate change.
- Promote societal well-being, supporting the health workforce and ensuring financial sustainability.
With an overall success rate of the MSCA Doctoral Network programme of 10-14%, Fundament supported the submission of a proposal twice, with the second time being successful.
About the resubmission, Dionne says:
“The first time around I tried to squeeze so much information and details into the proposal that it just became too complex to fully grasp for evaluators what we were after. In the resubmission Fundament helped immensely to restructure the proposal, so it became clear and contained a strong message within the page limit. They were a big help to figure out which bit of information to put where… And this sounds pretty simple, but open a proposal template and things start to get quite messy and overwhelming instantly.”
Fundament is associated partner in HealthIntelAct and will provide the grant writing training courses during the programme.
