Where? The Old Course, St Andrews, Scotland.

How? Smith produced one of the most thrilling final rounds in major history to claim his first title at St Andrews, firing a closing 64 including a 30 on the back nine to leapfrog overnight leaders Rory McIlroy and Viktor Hovland and lift the Claret Jug. His winning total of 20 under par ties the lowest ever at a men's major championship, and takes him to number two in the world rankings.
