The Tour Edge Exotics EX9 hybrid combines the forgiveness of previous Tour Edge hybrid clubs with its Exotics distance technology in a classic hybrid shaped head.
Speed from the face is maximised by the use of a maraging steel cup face, where the alloy is slowly cooled in the air to become very strong and resistant to corrosion, with a variable thickness face.
The thin and thick areas are strategically positioned across the face to optimise distance and forgiveness and maintain ball speeds on off-centre strikes. The face is paired with a heavier hyper-steel body that aids playability from all lies with the heavy sole positioning the centre of gravity lower in the head to aid players in launching the ball from all types of lies.
As with the other clubs in Tour Edge's Exotics range the EX9 features the distinctive Shockwave Sole. In this latest version the waves are much shorter from front to back which dramatically reduces the amount of turf interaction, thereby maintaining club head speed for an explosive impact and overall distance.
Speed from the face is also generated by the Power Grid that sits behind the face. In the Exotics EX9 hybrid this has been re-engineered to make it deeper and narrower, increasing the spring-effect across the whole face. The notches located along the the back edge of the Power Grid provide the thinner spots specifically designed to increase rebound at impact for faster ball speeds.
The Tour Edge Exotics EX9 hybrid package is completed with a choice of four UST Mamiya Recoil shafts. The 450 and 460 shafts give a super lightweight option to increase club head speed with a high ball flight whilst the 670 and 680 create a lightweight combination for a mid-high ball flight for greater distance.
