What's better than a Scotty Cameron putter? How about a Scotty Cameron Putter Gallery?
Cameron, a master craftsman and putter guru, has opened the doors to the world's first Scotty Cameron Gallery. Located in Southern California, the Gallery showcases exclusive products as well as a tour-quality fitting experience for everyday golfers.
Cameron, who began his professional life making putters for Mizuno, has been designing and producing high-end putters for more than 20 years. After designing the putter used by Bernhard Langer to win the 1992 Masters, Cameron teamed up with Titleist. And it wasn't long until Scotty Cameron became a household name.
He opened his first Putter Studio in 1996 in San Diego as a location for world's best players to come and understand their putting strokes and learn more about Cameron's putters.
Fast forward 18 years and Cameron is opening a slightly different studio, with more focus on the everyday golfer.
Opening the Scotty Cameron Gallery is something I’ve dreamed about for a long time. I’ve always wanted
to have a place open to the public where I can share the things that I have created and love.
Located midway between San Diego and Carlsbad, the Gallery showcases an ever-changing array of rare Scotty Cameron tour putters and unique creations, alongside the tour-standard fitting studio, utilising the same methodology and technology to help golfers identify the best putter for their game.
You may not be familiar with Encinitas, California, but Scotty Cameron is.
It's a surf community that is laid back and casual. I want this location to make someone that walks in the door say "Wow, where in the heck am I?"
Building on the success of Scotty Cameron putter fitting studios in Korea and Japan, the Gallery is home to
Cameron’s first public putter fitting studio in the United States. It is an extension of Scotty’s state-of-the-art research and development facility in nearby North County San Diego.
At the Gallery, golfers will experience the same tour treatment, gaining knowledge provided by Cameron’s proprietary high-speed video putting stroke analysis tools, as well as the expertise of his highly trained fitters. A two-hour fitting session costs $350.
In true Southern California fashion, the space has been converted from a surf shop and allows golfers to
purchase a plethora of unique Cameron putters and one-off Scotty creations, including clothing, headcovers, golf bags, handcrafted belt buckles, as well as an array of gifts that captured Cameron’s attention and affection during his travels.
Described by Cameron as, “part retail space, part high-end product gallery, 100-percent fitting facility. It is a place where golfers can come to understand what is happening between the ball, the putter and the player – and how we get those three things to work in harmony.”
We have things here that you won’t see any place else in the world.
When people come into the Gallery, we want them to feel the craftsmanship, the vibe, the experience. This is a place where you come to get fit and learn about your putting stroke, but also to get something that there is only one of in the world.
