In the last couple of years there has been an emergence of golf shoes which blend classical looks with more modern technological and performance enhancements, including the likes of the Adidas MC80 and FootJoy Premiere and Traditions Series.
Puma are the latest brand to try their hand at this, with the introduction of the new Avant shoe, said to be aimed at 'the sophisticated yet modern golfer'.
Designed to offer a combination of classic styling and modern performance, the Avant seeks to provide a better level of fit and comfort than golfers would usually see from a shoe of this type.
"The saddle and wingtip styles were a lot of fun to design. We are entering the classics space. A traditional style is a first for us and we are super thrilled to be part of the action. We want to serve the golfer, we have been listening and are excited to deliver this trend to our golf consumer."

The new Avant collection is made up of two different models, the Avant and the Avant Wingtip.
Both shoes are made with a premium Full Grain Leather Upper, which comes with a one-year waterproof guarantee, meaning it is suitable for use in all conditions.
The shoes feature full-length Profoam EVA Midsoles, built to provide cushioning and all-day comfort, whilst Radial Traction Technology offers spikeless performance via strategically positioned ridges and lugs to give golfers grip on any playing surface.
A Proclip TPU Heel Counter and Performance TPU Welt provide a secure fit and 360-degree stability around the foot, while other features include a Comfort Collar Lining for improved feel whilst walking, and details such as the metal cat badge and brogue finish.
The Puma Avant shoes are priced at £100 and will be available in multiple colourways from 26th February.
