Ping have announced the next generation of their Prodi G junior clubs, which are custom-fit and custom-built with many of the same technologies as the adults equipment to help younger golfers take their first steps into the game.
The new Prodi G also comes along with the release of the new WebFit Junior, a web app which recommends club specs and set makeup based on the answers given about a junior golfer.
The custom-built set features 10 clubs and a choice of two putters: a 15⁰ driver, 22⁰ fairway wood, 28⁰ hybrid, perimeter weighted irons (6-PW), specialty wedges (54 and 58⁰) and two premium putter models (Anser and Tyne H).
The lightweight clubs can be ordered in any combination, whilst there are also two different sizes of the Hoofer Prodi G carry bag which can be purchased separately.
Within the Prodi G clubs are a number of technologies which are also seen in some of Ping's existing adult clubs, including thinner, more flexible faces to increase ball speeds in the metals, as well as irons with a lower CG to promote more distance with a higher launch.
In the irons is a custom tuning port, allowing for precise swing weighting during custom-building, while there are two different lightweight graphite shafts optimised for length, weight and balance to best suit junior golfers' swing speeds.
Ping's new WebFit Junior web app asks a few questions about the player, taking less than two minutes to complete, and the junior golfer's skill level, age, height, wrist-to-floor and average driver distance are factored into the recommendations.
The newest range also comes with the news that Ping are going to be continuing their 'Get Golf Growing' programme, which allows for a one-time, no-cost adjustment to sets of five clubs or more - helping to address the issue that lots of junior golfers face in that they play clubs which are not suited to their games.
"Focusing on the needs of junior golfers and utilising the technology of our adult product lines, we've advanced the performance of the new Prodi G family to deliver more distance while launching the ball higher, to help ensure juniors experience consistently good shots and have fun on the course."
"We've also expanded the build range of the entire set, allowing us to better fit a wider height range of players using the new junior fitting app. With junior golf growing a a very high rate, we're excited to bring all this to parents who want to get their kids started with a premium, high-performance set of clubs, custom fit and custom built just for them."
