Luxury golf apparel experts Galvin Green have launched their newest range for 2020, Part One, which features almost 300 high-performance garments and accessories to prepare dedicated golfers for every eventuality out on the course.
The brand, best known for their efforts in introducing the multi-layer concept to the golfing world, are seeking to provide comfort and protection so that you can swing your best and look your best every time you tee it up.
It includes a new Interface-1 jacket range, along with new colour schemes including Barberry Red, Surf Blue and Blush Pink.
Galvin Green's newly-appointed CEO Nicholai Stein commented:
This new collection reflects our brand DNA to constantly progress, just as every serious golfer wants to improve by playing as often as possible. In looking to give customers the very best golfing experience, our designers took inspiration from two complementary elements in the game - the soft flow of course topography and the powerful impact on striking the ball.
In combining these elements, they created a vision of fresh prints, patterns and graphic designs that match our focus on functional comfort and style perfectly.
Leading the range are two new super-light Shakedry jackets, which Galvin Green say offers the 'most comfortable and reliable' waterproof technology on the market.
We took the full-zip Ashton model out on the course last year for a full review.
There is also a new half-zip Ashby jacket which weighs just 172g and features a side zipper for easy removal.
Nicholai explained:
The half-zip Shakedry jacket has been added due to demand from golfers who prefer an even more streamlined waterproof top. World-class Tour players who wore the full-zip jacket told us it felt like wearing another shirt, but this version is lighter and super functional for accomplished players.
The first of Galvin Green's 3-layer apparel suggestion is the Interface-1 jacket, headlined by the versatile and warming Lyon jacket which is now available in four different colourways.
Both breathable and windproof, it features Primaloft insulation padding, with a Gore-Tex membrane. An elastic drawstring at the hem and partial elastic cuffs ensure a good fit.
For warmth in cool conditions, the latest Insula mid-layers provide golfers with excellent levels of thermal comfort. The lightweight, breathable material used in the Dixon half-zip pullover has a warming effect whilst also feeling soft next to the skin.
Underneath will go the Ventil8 Plus polo shirts, and Galvin Green say that the most striking of these is the Markell, featuring a 'shattering impact' print.
In the Ladies collection, the Aurora waterproof jacket leads the way, with a Gore-Tex fabric and lightweight mesh lining for protection and brethability. The sleeves are shaped to provide easy movement during the swing, and the jacket comes in sizes from XS to XXL.
Other standout garments include the Lorene jacket with Primaloft front and back padding, Ventil8 Mercy sleeveless shirt and Misty skirt combination.
Galvin Green Adds Apollo Jacket To Headline Part One Collection
The new Apollo waterproof jacket leads the collection and is the brand's first model to feature Gore-Tex technology along with front pockets for added versatility on and off the course.
The Apollo has taken two years to develop, which is six months longer than their usual timeframe for garments of this type, and a number of different iterations were trialed to ensure that the new pockets wouldn't interefere with the golfer's swing. The pockets added just 25g to the overall weight, bringing it up to 300g total, meaning that you can move without restriction out on the course.
Shaped sleeves provide easy movement whilst elastic and velcro cuffs mean that there is no interference when setting yp to the ball. Adjustable chest width tabs and elasticated-drawstring hem offer a tailored fit.
The Apollo Jacket comes in six different colourways - two solid colours and four combinations - in sizes S-3XL at an RRP of £290.
