It's been another busy month in the golf equipment world, so catch up on all the major moves right here:

New Gear

Titleist Players & Hybrids Bags

As another golfing season approaches, many of you will be fetching the golf clubs back out from the garage/spare room/lake where you threw them in anger last time you played, and you may decide that this is the year where you finally upgrade your bag to something a little smarter.

As it turns out, Titleist have you covered. It has announced a new range of five bags over two distinct models - Players and Hybrid - which should cater to the needs of every single golfer.

Motocaddy 2019 Trolley Range

One of the market-leaders in the UK golf trolley market, Motocaddy has announced three new models for it's collection ready for the warmer and (hopefully) drier weather in 2019. They claim that it includes a trolley for every golfer, 'irrespective of whether their decision is based on budget, technology, size or design'.

TaylorMade Spider X Putter Review

"On longer putts the more compact weights at the back give it a better balance and a more manageable shape than the larger Spider models, and for this reason I think it will have wider appeal." Martin Hopley

Callaway ERC Soft Golf Ball Review

"Callaway has done a good job with the ERC Soft ball because it does deliver the soft feel with higher launch that it claims too, and the ball speed is not bad for a soft ball." Martin Hopley

On Tour

Winners' WITBs

At the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, Phil Mickelson came from behind to secure his 44th PGA Tour victory in a Monday finish after darkness interrupted his final round. Phil started the round three strokes behind Paul Casey but a fantastic 65 was enough to give him a comfortable win, his fifth at this event.

Then just a fortnight later, the first World Golf Championships event went to Dustin Johnson in Mexico. His 20th PGA Tour win and 6th WGC title, Johnson was almost flawless all week as he finished five clear of the field at 20 under par using a full bag of TaylorMade equipment including the new M5 Driver and Fairway Wood.

Rory's New Putter

Rory McIlroy, who's putting has been a point of discussion for fans and the media alike for the past couple of years, finally seems to have settled on a model he likes.

Since switching to the new TaylorMade Spider X Putter, Rory has recorded finishes of T4, T5, T4 and 2nd, as well as T6 during his title defence at Bay Hill in March.

With the Masters just around the corner, could this be the change he needed to finally get the chance to wear that Green Jacket?

Rickie's New Ball Helps To Answer Critics

Having used a Titleist ball since he was a teenager, it was perhaps a bit of a surprise to see Rickie Fowler make the switch to the TaylorMade TP5x earlier this year. However, it seems to have paid off already, as he proceeded to win the Waste Management Open in Phoenix.

It's fair to say the new ball was put through its paces too as the players battled some terrible weather conditions throughout the week, with wind and rain playing havoc. Rickie seemed to have his ball flight and control pretty dialled in though, as he was able to outlast the rest of the field and finish ahead of Branden Grace due to two late birdies.
