The new F-Max Airspeed collection builds upon the initial release from 2017 and, as the name suggests, centres around providing lightweight options to give maximum ball speed, distance and forgiveness to golfers with slower swing speeds.
Available from January 24th 2020, the range consists of drivers, fairway woods, hybrids and irons for both men and women, and items can be purchased separately or as part of a complete set.
Cobra F-Max Airspeed Men's And Women's Driver
Heading up the range are the new and improved Airspeed Drivers, which have been re-engineered with new technologies geared towards weight-saving.
The old titanium crown has been replaced with a carbon fibre one, saving 10 grams of weight which is in turn re-distributed low and back in the clubhead, providing better launch and maximum forgiveness.
An Airspeed shaft, which is five grams lighter and a 6 gram lighter Lamkin midsize grip brings the overall weight down to just 285 grams.
The Drivers utilise a new PWR Ridge design on the crown, which carry the dual benefit of improved aerodynamics and assistance with proper alignment.
If you struggle with a slice, then this club may be for you. There's internal weighting placed closer to the heel, aswell as an offset hosel design, which help with higher trajectories and straighter ball flights.
For men, the driver is available in 10.5 and 11.5 degrees for right-handers and 10.5 degrees only for left-handers, at an RRP of £269. The women's driver is available in an offset model only, with 11.5 and 15 degree options for right-handers and 11.5 only for left-handers.
Cobra F-Max Airspeed Men's And Women's Fairway Wood
The Fairways enjoy many of the same weight-saving methods as the driver, including a new lightweight carbon crown, and lighter Airspeed shaft.
A low profile and shallow face design gives a lower Centre of Gravity (CG) for a higher launch, whilst back/heel weighting promotes a draw shape.
The fairway wood is available for both right and left handed golfers, in black/blue for men and black/lilac for women, both at an RRP of £179. The lofts for men are 16, 20 and 23 degrees, and for women they are 19, 23 and 27 degrees.
Cobra F-Max Airspeed Men's And Women's Hybrids
The men's and women's F-Max Airspeed Hybrids make the most of Cobra's lightest clubhead, grip and shaft designs along with other game-enhancing technologies.
An internal weight pad is strategically positioned deep in the head towards the heel to provide straighter trajectories, whilst the offset hosel design makes it easier for golfers to square up the face at impact to help limit the likelihood of a slice whilst also providing a better launch.
Available for £159 from 19 to 31 degrees of loft for men, and 23 to 32 degrees for women, the hybrids will be in stores from January 24th 2020.
Cobra F-Max Airspeed Men's And Women's Irons
Placing the weight low and wide in the head increases stability and forgiveness on mis-hits, whilst heel-biased weighting is there to promote a draw trajectory for better accuracy and control.
The hosels are shorter in the longer irons which lowers the centre of gravity, thereby making it easier to launch. They increase in length through the mid irons to the wedges, where the centre of gravity is higher to promote flatter, more controlled ball flights with the scoring clubs.
There is more offset in the longer irons for added accuracy and forgiveness, while the short irons and wedges have progressively less offset for more control and precision.
A low profile shape with a deep cavity design produces a higher launch with better ball speeds and maximised carry distance.
Having greater iron lofts improves flight trajectory for golfers with moderate swing speeds, to provide increased carry distances and better descent angles to promote better stopping power as the ball comes into the green.
Tom Olsavsky, VP of R&D at Cobra Golf, commented:
For golfers who love the game but just don't swing it with the same speed they used to, the F-Max Airspeed irons are a great choice. We are confident that the combination of easy launch, low spin, and increased clubhead speed that these irons provide, will make the game much more enjoyable.
The F-Max irons are available in 5-SW at an RRP of £549 with Airspeed steel shafts, and £649 with graphite shafts, and will be released along with the hybrids from January 24th next year.
