In the golf equipment world, you constantly hear about new products which are said to be 'revolutionary' in their design and performance with 'first of its kind technology', but it's not often that you can accept that this is true.

Cobra's latest creation definitely falls into that category, however, as they become the first brand to introduce 3D printing to their golf equipment with the new King Supersport-35 Putter, developed alongside HP and complete with SIK face insert.

Cobra King Supersport-35 Putter

After two years of collaboration the Supersport-35 features a fully 3D printed metal body and lattice structure to optimise weight distribution and provide the highest MOI possible for a blade putter.

The face insert, designed in partnership with SIK Golf, utilises their Descending Loft Technology to provide a consistent and accurate roll on every putt.

Utilising the HP Metal Jet, the team has already created thirty-five different designs over an eight month period from the beginning of 2019, and this marks the start of a significant element of Cobra golf clubs. The brand also has plans to launch two further products in 2021 which also feature 3D printed technology.

"I've had a lot of success over the years with my SIK putter and was really excited to work with Cobra to develop a new way to manufacture equipment and bring this new putter to market. HP's Metal Jet technology is an incredibly advanced production method and very exacting, which is pretty critical in golf equipment."

"I think golfers of all levels will benefit from the combination of Cobra's high MOI design and SIK's Descending Loft technology."

The Supersport, which comes in an oversized blade shape, has the Descending Loft technology engineered into an aluminium face insert.

This design is said to save weight at the front of the putter, to be repositioned in the heel and toe of the head for more forgiveness, with a slightly softer feel than the usual steel SIK face.

The HP Metal Jet 3D printing is said to improve part quality whilst also reducing the need for 'finishing' following the process. The entire body is printed using 316 stainless steel, then sintered at high temperature to bind the metal and form the final head part.

The 'intricate lattice structure' fine tunes feel and optimises weight distribution to raise MOI without the need for additional fixed weights.

The Supersport features a high MOI heel-toe weighted design to maximise stability, along with a plumber neck hosel with 35-degree toe hang built for golfers with a slight arc stroke.

The Cobra King Supersport-35 Putter will be offered in limited quantities for £349 starting from November 20th. It is available in 34", RH only, and comes with a lightweight Lamkin Sinkfit Smart Grip for excellent feel and further weight saving.
