Hot on the heels of their new King Forged TEC irons, which were aimed at providing distance and forgiveness to better players, Cobra is now targetting the other end of the golfing scale with the release of the new super game-improvement T-RAIL iron hybrid set.
The set has incorporated the forgiveness of Cobra's renowned Baffler wood technology, which features rails running along the sole of the club to better aid turf interaction as the clubhead glides through the ground, promoting better strikes and therefore more consistent results.
This combines with the versatility and precision that an iron shape can give golfers to provide the ultimate iron package for high-handicap golfers seeking to improve their scores.
The T-RAIL irons feature a hollow, hybrid shape combined with an iron face and topline, which promotes distance, forgiveness and accuracy.
The hollow body construction moves the centre of gravity (CG) lower and deeper in the head than normal cavity-back irons, making it even easier to get the ball up in the air.
A high-strength, forged steel face uses E9 Technology to produce a thin pocket running from heel to toe, enhancing both ball speed and distance on off-centre hits for greater forgiveness.
Tom Olsavsky, Vice President of R&D at Cobra Golf, explained:
T-RAIL irons make it easy for beginners and golfers who have lost some distance and control to gain the confidence needed to play better and have more fun.
Players who need max forgiveness and are looking for more distance will be amazed at how far and straight they hit these, even being able to get them airbone from tough lies.
The men's T-RAIL set, which comes in a black/blue colourway, features a 5 hybrid and 6-SW irons in right or left handed setups. The price for the set with steel shafts is £699, or you can pay an extra £100 for the graphite shafts.
There are also 4 and 6 hybrids available through Cobra's custom fitting process if you want to take your combo set a little further.
The women's T-RAIL set is priced at £799 as it comes in graphite shafts only, in a black/lilac colourway. The setup is the same, with a 5 hybrid followed by 6-SW irons, and completed with Lamkin midsize grips.
The T-RAIL sets will be available from November 15th.
